Unit 3 opens with a study of Gandhi's India and Mao's China. President Truman takes center stage as the Cold War gets too warm for comfort. The idyllic 50's give way to the turbulent 60's with the Civil Rights Movement, anti-Vietnam War protests, and drug cultures. Younger children study brighter topics including the Beatles' music, new technological advances, and the Space Race.
